9th August: International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples

The International Day of the World's Indigenous People has been observed annually on 9th August around the world to raise awareness about the World's Indigenous Population.
The theme for this year is ‘Indigenous Languages’.
On this day, people from all over the world are encouraged to spread the United Nation’s message on the protection and promotion of the rights of indigenous peoples.
