Former South African Cricketer Jacques Kallis Receives Ikhamanga Award 2019


  • The legendary Former South African all-rounder Cricketer Jacques Kallis (age 43 years) has been honored with the Order of Ikhamanga in the Silver Division by South African President Cyril Ramaphosa.
  • Jacques Kallis (born 16 October 1975) is an Ex-South African cricketer, and a Former Test and ODI captain. Kallis played 166 Tests, 328 ODIs and 25 T20Is, returning 62 hundred and 577 wickets.
  • The Order of Ikhamanga is a South African honor. It was instituted on 30 November 2003 and is granted by the President of South Africa for achievements in arts, culture, literature, music, journalism, and sports.
  • The order has 3-classes:
    - Gold (OIG), For exceptional achievement,
    - Silver (OIS), For excellent achievement,
    - Bronze (OIB), For outstanding achievement.
