Novel 'Solo' author Rana Dasgupta wins 2019 Tagore Literary Prize


  1. The 2nd edition of Rabindranath Tagore Literary Prize was awarded to British Indian novelist Rana Dasgupta for his 2010 Novel 'Solo', a tale of estrangement and the ultimate failure of material existence.
  2. An amount of 10 thousand US dollar, a Rabindranath Tagore statue and a certificate for contribution to literature were given to Dasgupta.
  3. The Rabindranath Tagore Literary Prize for social achievement was awarded to Yohei Sasakawa, for his incredible efforts to uproot leprosy and great contribution to world peace.
  4. The President of Taiwan-Tsai Ing-wen was also awarded to Tagore Literary Prize 2019, for his efforts to advance democracy, freedom and human rights.
