- The 2019 Asian Weightlifting Championships begins in Ningbo, China. The competition will continue until the 28th of April.
- As many as 278 participants from 28 nations and regions, including China, Japan, South Korea, India, Iran, and North Korea have registered for the competition.
- Former World Champion, Saikhom Mirabai Chanu (age 24 years) will spearhead India’s challenge at the Championship.
About Championships:-
- The Asian Weightlifting Championships is a weightlifting championship organized by the Asian Weightlifting Federation for competitors from the Asian countries.
- It has been held since 1969 for men and 1988 for women.
