- The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi inaugurated a new airport in Odisha's Jharsuguda Airport and flags off UDAN flight between Jharsuguda-Raipur sector.
- With a 2390 meter-long runway, the airport will be able to park A-320 type aircraft. The Terminal Building has five check-in counters and one arrival carousel with the peak hour handling capacity of 300 passengers.
- Jharsuguda Airport has been developed by the Airports Authority of India, in collaboration with Govt. of Odisha at an estimated cost of Rs.210 Crores with a contribution of Rs. 75 Crores from the State Government.
