- In Brazil, far-right candidate Jair Bolsonaro (63-years-old, born on 21 March 1955) has won a sweeping victory in Presidential elections. With almost all votes counted, Mr. Bolsonaro bagged 55 percent votes against 45 percent for Fernando Haddad from the left-wing Workers Party.
- Mr. Bolsonaro is scheduled to take office on 1st January next year.
- In his victory speech, the president-elect said, he would defend the constitution, democracy and freedom. He said, he would make Brazil a great nation again.
