- Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be on a two-day visit to Japan from 28th of this month.
- Briefing media on the upcoming visit this evening, Foreign Secretary Vijay Gokhale said, the Prime Minister will attend the 13th India Japan annual summit. Mr Modi will also hold bilateral talks with his Japanese counterpart Shinzo Abe.
- Both leaders are likely to discuss issues of defence and regional security. Mr Gokhale said, Cooperation in the Indo-Pacific region will be a major topic for discussion.
- Several agreements are expected to be signed after the meeting. During the visit, Mr Modi will visit Yamanashi prefecture at the foothills of Mount Fuji and also address community function in Tokyo.
- He will also attend a series of business events and address business forum.
