The Govt of Punjab to regularise 8886 Teachers

  • The Punjab Cabinet today gave approval to the Cabinet Sub-committee’s recommendation to regularize services of 8886 teachers.
  • An official spokesperson said in Chandigarh, these teachers include 7356 teachers recruited under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, 1194 under Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan and 220 teachers recruited for model schools and 116 for Adarsh schools.
  • He said, though the committee had recommended that services of all the teachers or employees be regularised by absorbing them, by creating these posts, in the school education department, subject to the condition that they would be paid 10,300 rupees per month, initial of the regular pay scale, for the three years, the cabinet decided to pay them 15,000 rupees instead.
  • He said that on successful completion of the probation period of three years, their services would be regularised by the department, strictly as per rules.
