NASA's InSight Spacecraft Lands on Mars After A 6-Months Journey

  1. NASA's robotic InSight lander successfully landed on Red Planet Mars after the six-month journey. The spacecraft has been designed to dig deep into the rocky surface of the Mars to reveal its secrets.
  2. Indian Air Force (IAF) and US Air Force (USAF) will participate in bilateral exercise ‘COPE INDIA 2019’ – scheduled to be held between December 3 and 14,2019 in West Bengal. The bilateral flying training programme will be held at two important airbases in West Bengal - Air Force Station Kalaikunda and Air Force Station Arjan Singh at Panagarh.
  3. The Chairman of Wipro, Mr. Azim Premji conferred with the highest French civilian distinction Chevalier de la Legion d'Honneur (Knight of the Legion of Honour) for his outstanding contribution to developing the information technology industry in India.
  4. The State Bank of India (SBI) increased fixed deposits (FD) rates by 5-10 basis points (bps) for various tenors. The new rates will be applicable from 28 November 2018 and for FDs below Rs 1 crore.
