Govt launches Rs 75 coin to mark the 75th anniversary of Hoisting of Tricolour by Netaji at Port Blair


  • The union government launched Rupees 75 coin to mark the 75th anniversary of Hosting of Tricolour by Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose at Port Blair.
  • The Ministry of Finance has issued a notification regarding the release of the coin of seventy-five rupees along with its specifications.
  • On 30th December 1943, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, who raised the Indian National Army (INA) to fight against the British, had hoisted the Tricolour for the first time at Cellular Jail, Port Blair.
  • The 35-gram coin will be composed of 50% silver, 40% copper, and 5% each of nickel and zinc.
  • This coin will bear the portrait of 'Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose' saluting the flag on the background of cellular jail.
