In the Defense Deal, Investigation of the Bribe Started


The Ukraine government has begun investigations into bribery in a defense aircraft deal from India. The Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine has alleged that the purchase of spare parts for AN-32 aircraft, bribe of Rs 17.55 crore was given to Indian Ministry of Defense Ministry.

On 13 February this year, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NAB) of Ukraine requested the Indian Ministry of Home Affairs to provide "legal assistance". It has demanded to identify the officers who are involved in negotiating, signing and applying for the defense deal.

Spetstechnoexport, a Ukrainian government company, had entered into an agreement with the Indian Ministry of Defense on November 26, 2014, under which Spares were supplied to Hindustan Aeronautics.
