Yusuf Salim of Pakistan has introduced a new example of zeal and he has become the first blinded judge of Pakistan. On Tuesday, he took the oath of office. Yusuf of Lahore was denied the post earlier but he was made the judge after the interference of Chief Justice Mian Shakib Nisar.
Yusuf is among the 21 civil judges who took office in the Lahore High Court. On this occasion, Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Mohammad Murdi Ali, expressed the hope that all the judges will fulfil their responsibilities. He said that under the law, people should be judged without any discrimination and fear.
Yusuf was working as Assistant Director (Legal) in the Punjab Government. After this, he was elected in the written examination for the post of Civil Judge, which was passed by 300 candidates. After this, due to visually impaired during the interview, he was not considered suitable for the post and he was refused the judge.
