The Surat court has issued an arrest warrant against Nirav Modi, accused in the Punjab National Bank scam. Warrants against Modi have been issued in the matter of fraud of crores of rupees.
On April 7, 2018, Central Excise, GST Department and DRI had registered a complaint against Nirav Modi in Surat's court. The allegation was that Nirav Modi had exported Rs 104 crore by valuing the value of 4.93 crores from his factory located in Surat Special Economic Zone, for which the case of duty theft was made in Surat Court.
The arrest warrant was issued against the Nirav Modi under CRPC 70 against the absence of spot in court. Nirav Modi and his three companies, Mayfair Star Diamond International, Mayfair International Pvt Ltd and Radhasir Jewellery Pvt Ltd had stolen crores in 2014 and 2015.
