1. 29 July Celebrated as International Tiger Day to raise awareness for tiger conservation. According to the WWF only 3,890 Tigers are left in the world, and in India there are 308 Tigers are left (as per 2014 Tiger Counting).
2. The Vice President of India, Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu has said that the Eye donation is the noblest act after death and such voluntary effort can alleviate blindness and restore vision in those with corneal blindness. He was addressing the OSKON 2018 (Ocular Surface and Keratoprosthesis Conference), organised by Shankara Netralaya, in Chennai today.
3. Shri Dharmendra Pradhan: Union Minister of Petroleum & Natural Gas, has said that Oil companies such as IOCL, BPCL, HPCL have decided to set up a new integrated refinery-cum-petrochemical complex of 60 MMTPA refining capacity at Babulwadi, Taluka Rajapur in Ratnagiri, Maharashtra state with an estimated investment of Rs. 3 lakh crore. A Joint Venture (JV) Company, ‘Ratnigiri Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited (RRPCL)’ has been formed to execute the project.
4. 30 July: World Day against Trafficking in Persons is being organized by the United Nations to Combat Trafficking in Persons.
5. Mohun Bagan ‘Ratna’ Award 2018 has given to Pradip Chowdhary (Captain of Mohun Bagan). Other Award Winners:-
- Shilton Paul (Goalkeeper) – Best Footballer 2017-18,
- Sudip Chatterjee – Best Cricketer,
- Sourav Das – Best Youth Footballer Player,
- Special award to – Rahim Ali for his performance in the U-17 World Cup.
