PM Modi congrats Hima Das to Create History in 400m Race

1. The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, has congratulated 18-year-old athlete Hima Das on winning Gold in 400m (51.46 seconds) of World U20 Championships. “India is delighted and proud of athlete Hima Das, who won a historic Gold in the 400m of World U20 Championships. Congratulations to her! This accomplishment will certainly inspire young athletes in the coming years”, the Prime Minister said.

2. Minister of Commerce and Industry and Civil Aviation, Suresh Prabhu, met with the World Bank team in New Delhi on Thursday. The team was led by Ms. Caroline Freund, Director of Trade, Regional Integration and Investment Climate and Junaid Ahmad, Country Director for the World Bank in India. Discussions were held to explore ways to strengthen World Bank support towards India's development with collaboration in specific areas of trade, logistics, and investment.

3. Shivraj Singh Chauhan Chief Minister of MP inaugurated state-run power giant NTPC Solar Power Plant of 250 megawatts in Mandsaur.

4. The Indian Railways has launched its 1st new consolidated Bridge Management System in New Delhi. Bridge Management System is an IT application to store data on its 1.5 lakh bridges. Railways Minister Piyush Goyal launched the service for "meaningful assimilation, analysis, and dissemination of information related to various activities" about its bridges.

5. M. Venkaiah Naidu has appointed Dr. TCA Raghavan as a new Director-General of ICWA.
