PM Modi Inaugurates New ASI (Archaeological Survey of India) Headquarters in New Delhi

1. The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, will inaugurate the new Headquarters building of the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), at Tilak Marg in New Delhi on July 12, 2018. The new Headquarters building has been equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, including energy-efficient lighting and rainwater harvesting. It shall include a Central Archaeological Library with a collection of about 1.5 lakh books and journals.

2. Microsoft has signed a MoU with the government of Rajasthan to provide free digital training to 9,500 college students in one year. The initiative was taken for the enhancement of digital learning and capacity building of college students in the state.

3. Shri Nitin Gadkari to Visit Polavaram Dam Project in Andhra Pradesh Today Will also lay the Foundation for/ Inaugurate Highways Projects Worth Rs 6688 Crore and Port Projects Worth Rs 1062 Crore in the State this Week.

4. The Vice President of India, Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu has asked the IAS officers to look upon people as active agents of transforming India, not merely as ‘target groups’ or ‘beneficiaries’ as we used to call them. He was addressing IAS Officers of 2016 batch posted as Assistant Secretaries in Government of India, in New Delhi today.

5. 11th July 2018 celebrated as World Population Day, established by the Governing Council of the UNDP (United Nations Development Programme) in 1989.
