PNB Scam: Standing Committee of Parliament Sought Report from Ministry of Finance

After the 11,360 crore rupees scandal in the branch of the Punjab National Bank (PNB), the Parliament's Standing Committee (finance) has sought a detailed report from the banking secretary and the finance ministry on the Nirav Modi PNB scam.

The committee questioned the officials of the banking secretary and the finance ministry that the taxpayers' money should go in such a big scam and the bank could not even know how it could be done. The committee consists of several MPs from opposition parties. Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh is also a member of this committee.
