According to the Chairman of ISRO Dr. K. Sivan, says that India's second lunar exploration mission Chandrayaan-2 will be launch in January 2019 by a GSLV Mk III rocket.
The Chandrayaan-2 includes an orbiter, lander, and rover, all of these are developed by India.
- Combined Launch mass is 3,877 Kg, out of which
- Orbiter Payload mass is 2,379 kg (5,245 lb)
- Lander Payload mass is 1,471 kg (3,243 lb)
- Rover Payload mass is 27 kg (60 lb).
According to ISRO, this mission will use and test various new technologies and conduct new experiments.
