1. Indigenously developed Helicopter launched Anti-Tank Guided Missile ‘HELINA’ has been successfully flight tested from Army Helicopter at 1400hrs in the ranges of Pokhran, today. The weapon system has been tested for its full range. The ‘HELINA’ weapon system released smoothly from the launch platform has tracked the target all through its course and hit the target with high precision. All the parameters have been monitored by the telemetry stations, tracking systems and the Helicopters.
2. SAAW - Smart Anti Airfield Weapon. Successful Flight Test at Chandan Range:- Indigenously designed and developed guided bombs Smart Anti Airfield Weapon (SAAW) were successfully flight tested from IAF aircraft at Chandan range. The weapon system was integrated with the live warhead and has destroyed the targets with high precision. The telemetry and tracking systems captured all the mission events. This weapon is capable of destroying the variety of ground targets using precision navigation. A total of three tests with different release conditions were conducted from 16 to 18 August 2018 and all the mission objectives have been achieved.
3. 19 Celebrates as World Humanitarian Day:- The day dedicated to recognizing humanitarian personnel and those who have lost their lives working for humanitarian causes.
4. PM Modi Congrats Bajrang Punia (26-year-old Indian freestyle wrestler) on winning the Gold medal under 65 Kg category at Asian Games 2018.
“Congratulations Bajrang Punia for the memorable victory in the 65 kg freestyle wrestling. This win is even more special because it is India's first Gold in the Asian Games-2018. Best wishes for your future endeavors”, the Prime Minister said.
5. The President of India, Shri Ram Nath Kovind, paid floral tributes to Dr. Shanker Dayal Sharma, former President of India on his birth anniversary at Rashtrapati Bhavan today (August 19, 2018). Officers and staff of Rashtrapati Bhavan along with the family members of Dr. Shanker Dayal Sharma also paid their respects on the occasion.
