Nitin Gadkari Launches BIMSBR - PFMS Linkage Portals

1. The Minister for Road Transport & Highways, Shipping, Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation Shri Nitin Gadkari launched Bidder Information Management System (BIMS) and Bhoomi Rashi and PFMS linkage - two IT initiatives of the Road Transport & Highways Ministry that are aimed at expediting pre-construction processes relating to bidding and land acquisition respectively. The Minister also announced the institution of Annual Awards for Excellence in National Highways Projects from this year onwards.

2. Startup India's Academia Alliance Programme:- To fulfill the Government of India’s mission to promote the spirit of entrepreneurship in the country, Startup India launched the Startup Academia Alliance programme, a unique mentorship opportunity between academic scholars and startups working in similar domains.

5. National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has invited bids for 2nd Bundle of national highways under the Toll Operate Transfer model. The 2nd bundle consists of Eight Stretches of national highways in Rajasthan, Gujarat, Bihar and West Bengal state. The total length of the project is 586.552 km, and there are 12 Toll Plazas on these 8 road stretches. The Bid Due Date is 5th November 2018.

6. The Ministry of Tourism has launched a revamped version of the Incredible India website. Since the launch of the revamped website on 14th June 2018, 1.60 million visitors have visited the Incredible India website as on 2nd August 2018, engaging in the immersive experience of India’s spectacular heritage, festivity, spirituality, museums, and adventure. The composition of website traffic from the top 5 countries are Russia (19%), India (12%), UK (10%), US (9%) and Italy (6%).
