Corporates undertake Namami Gange Projects as part of their CSR activity


1. The banks of River Ganga are set to get a major facelift as several corporates have undertaken CSR projects for ghat cleaning and development, afforestation, provision of amenities and similar work under Namami Gange programme. Companies like Shipping Corporation of India, Indorama Corporation, IndusInd Bank, Yes Bank, Hinduja Group, Arcelor Mittal, New Indian Express, Bajaj Electricals, Amer Maritime, HCL, Reliance Industries and a few others have shown interest and undertaken projects in this area.

2. BEML and HEC join together for Manufacturing Mining Equipment under 'Make In India' initiative.

3. Shri Raman Singh (CM of Chhattisgarh) and Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut have launched a smartphone distribution scheme 'Mobile Tihar' on 1st August 2018, under Sanchar Kranti Yojna (SKY) in Raipur, Chhattisgarh. The main objective of this scheme is to distribute smartphones to Women/ Children (around 45/ 5 lakhs mobile phone) and setting up new mobile towers in Chhattisgarh state.

4. 1.07 Crore Rural Houses constructed over the last 4 years under Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana – Gramin (PMAY-G) with the objective of "Housing for All by 2022":- It was launched by PM Modi on 20th November 2016 from Agra. 2.95 crore houses are set to be constructed by 2022 to achieve the set objective of PMAY-G which has been decided to achieve in phases. In the first phase, the target is a construction of one crore pucca houses by 31st March 2019.
