Due to poor performance and increasing NPA, the Reserve Bank has shown a tough stance for Axis Bank MD and CEO Shikha Sharma. However, the bank has accepted the request to reduce her tenure from 3 years to just 7 months while trying to give her honourable farewell. Many more such bankers are at the behest of RBI, whose bank's performance has been very bad in recent years.
Actually, the position of Axis Bank is the seventh in this case, considering the bad NPA record. The condition of six other private banks is worse than that. The most prominent name in the fear of action is ICICI Bank CEO Chanda Kochhar whose tenure is to renew on April 1, 2019.
