Finance Department West Bengal has invited applications in the prescribed format for qualified persons to fill up 1 post of Technical Member in the West Bengal Taxation Tribunal. Details of the selection procedure, qualification, term of office and status of service along with the format of application are given below.

Other Qualification:
Establishment of Tribunal, composition and functions thereof:‐ No person shall be qualified for an appointment as Technical Member unless he is or has been an officer of the State Government or the Central Government, not below the rank of a Secretary to that Government, in the Secretariat or elsewhere, and has dealt with revenue or taxation matters during his service in the Government in the capacity of a Deputy Secretary or and above to the State Government or the Central Government for a period not less than three years in the aggregate.
Explanation: For the purpose of this clause, the expression “a Secretary” includes a Special Secretary.
Selection Procedure: Establishment of Tribunal, composition and functions thereof:‐ The Technical Members shall be appointed by the Governor on the recommendation of the Selection Committee of three members constituted by the Governor, of which the Chairman shall be a sitting Judge of the High Court nominated as such by the Chief Justice and two other Members nominated by the State Government

The application must reach the office of the Finance Department, Government of West Bengal within the 31st May 2018 up to 4 p.m. The applicants are also required to enclose two self-addressed envelopes (size 25 cm. X 11 cm.) containing postage stamp of Rs 25 on each, along with the application form. The envelope containing the Application Form must clearly mention on its top "Application for the H.J.S.-2018".

- The Term Of Office: Establishment of Tribunal, composition, and functions thereof:‐ Technical Member shall hold office for a term of five years from the date on which he enters upon his office, but he shall be eligible for reappointment.
- For Another Term Of Five Years:- Provided that no Technical Member shall hold office as such after he has attained the age of 65 years.
