Eligibility Criteria For Assam Police Excise Constable Recruitment 2020

  1. Nationality:- Candidates must be Indian citizens, ordinarily residents of Assam.
  2. Age:- Candidate should not be more than 38 years and less than 18 years of age as on 1st January 2020 (candidate must have born on or before 01-01-2002 and on or after 01-01-1982).
  3. Relaxation:- Upper age limit is relaxable as under:
    i) five-years in case of candidates belonging to SC/ ST (H)/ ST (P).
    ii) three-years in case of candidates belonging to OBC/ MOBC.
  4. Educational Qualification
    i) Minimum Higher Secondary passed from any recognized Board or Council.

Selection Procedure For Assam Police Excise Constable Recruitment 2020

Candidates whose applications are found correct in all respects will be called for the Physical Standards Tests (PST) and Physical Efficiency Tests (PET).
1. Physical Standard Test:- After the documents are found correct, the candidates will have to appear in the PST (Physical Standard Test). It will carry no marks.

2. Physical Efficiency Test:- Candidates who clear PST, will be required to undergo PET. The PET consists of the following. It will carry 40 marks and have two events.

3. Written Test:- After completion of the PST and PET for all the candidates, merit lists for each category (Unreserved, SC, ST(P), ST(H) & EWS for both male and female) will be prepared on the basis of the total marks scored on PET. Candidates will be called for the Written Test in order of merit.
The written test will consist of 100 multiple choice type questions to be answered on an OMR answer sheet. For each correct answer, the candidate will get half a mark. Questions will be of the level of class IX and X. Total marks for the Written Test will be 50. There will be no negative marking. The subjects to be covered will be as follows:
  1. Elementary Arithmetic.
  2. General English.
  3. Logical reasoning/ Mental ability.
  4. Assam’s History, Geography, Polity, Economy.
  5. General Awareness/ General Knowledge and current affairs.
